This weeks Unofficial Weekly Photo Challenge introduces us to Bosley. My two-year old kitten in the sky. For me this photo reflects his precious time here.

Yesterday was the first time we hit the beach this year. It was a perfect hot day for the beach but the water is still cold and only the brave dare enter. Where do you get your beach on?
My Expat Job Struggles | Sardinia, Italy
Landing a decent job in Sardinia is no easy task. Finding a job that I feel comfortable and happy with is proving to be difficult. Last week I wrote a post called My Expat Lives | Celebrating 4 Years in Sardinia, Italy. In that post, I highlight some of the struggles I’ve faced and overcome in the last four years. I’ve decided to write this post in hopes to inform people who Google: expat Sardinia, expat work in Sardinia, expat life in Sardinia and so on.
I’ve received several emails from people all over the world asking me questions about life on this beautiful Mediterranean island. Questions about daily life, working life and language.
There is a lot of competition for jobs on the island at the moment, the unemployment rate is through the roof and the employers are using that to their advantage, by paying the employees a lower wage. It’s a sad state of affairs for the unemployed in Sardinia, now imagine being an expat.
This post will highlight some of the struggles I’ve faced in the last few months while trying out new jobs. Continue reading

Rossella Urru | 200 Days in the Desert
Every day we carry your courage in our hearts.
Thoughts of you dance in the minds of citizens, worldwide.
Support and calls for freedom sung in silent choirs.
When will the silent become heard, when will the madness end?
Forza Rossella. Siamo sempre con te.
Freedom for women who haven’t the voice. Freedom for those not strong enough to fight the battle.
Freedom, our right.

My Expat Lives | 4 Years in Sardinia, Italy
On May 6th 2008, I left my home and native land for Sardinia, Italy.
How is it possible that four years have passed? I can’t believe it! I made the long trip back to Canada several times in the last few years. The time never enough, and some of my family have come to visit us in Sardinia and again, the time was never enough, but the memories will stay forever.
This will be one of my longer posts, so grab a glass of wine, some popcorn or a jar of Nutella. Just get comfortable.
Find out the ups and downs of expat life in Sardinia, Italy.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused
I’ve dug around my photo vault this morning and have found a few more unfocused shots for this weeks theme. I had to dig back a few years to find these shots as I usually delete them. Now with this challenge I’m seeing these unfocused shots in a new light.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused
I really had to dig deep in the photo vault for this weeks theme: Unfocused.
I’m the first to trash photo’s like this, and I’m happy I was able to find one for this weeks challenge.
Unfocused focused black cat
Does this photo make the cut for this weeks challenge? It was rather challenging this week, nicely done!
A Letter of Thanks to You
In the last few days I have received an enormous amount of support, congratulations and keep it ups, from strangers … all … over … the … world! I am overwhelmed by this outpouring of positive support.
I would like to thank each and every one of you; for your kind words and encouragement, now and though the last two years.
From the bottom of my heart – THANK YOU! GRAZIE!
This blog is an effort to show my writing skills. Skills for which no degree hangs, but this doesn’t stop me from doing what I love … writing. It’s been a silent dream of mine for eons and has only been visible to the outside world since the inception of My Sardinian Life.
I would have never guessed a place so forgotten, and lost in the world, could exist and offer so much joy and beauty.
Sardinia is land to be discovered, on your own time, by your own feet.
I share my daily life on this blog to share with others the ups and downs of an expat in this world. My life is not all umbrellas and sunshine, but it’s life and it’s mine. I created it, I own it.
My expat experiences have changed me, opened my eyes to human struggles around the world. Even if I reach one person with thoughts of inspiration and hope then my job is done. I’m complete.
My blog exists because of you. Your continued support has inspired me to carry on.
My kind and best regards to you all. Blessed be.
