Another fantastic theme this week: Urban. Seeing as I don’t live anywhere near an urban center, I had to dig deep into my photographic archives to find a suitable photo(s).

The Colosseum is considered one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering. It’s an iconic symbol of Imperial Rome and remains one of Rome’s top tourist attractions. Construction began in 72AD and was completed around 80AD.
The following image comes from a 1757 engraving by Italian artist Giovanni Battista Piranesi. It shows how the Colosseum looked over 250 years ago.
Three years ago today I boarded flight #16. Toronto to Rome. From Rome I boarded another flight to my home, Sardegna. I can’t believe three years have already passed. It seems just like yesterday I was kissing my loved ones good-bye. The person I was then is not the same person I am now. I have grown-up. My life far and different from those I left. Continue reading
