Introducing … My Caymanian Life

Hello World! Thank you for following along in the (mis)adventures of My Sardinian Life. As you know from this post – I have left Sardinia and am now living in the Cayman Islands.

It is with great pleasure to introduce to you my new blog – My Caymanian Life.

My Caymanian Life

I hope you’ll take the time to follow my adventures in one of the most spectacular places in the Caribbean – Cayman Islands. There’s plenty to discover on these three tiny islands and I can’t wait to share with you what I see, hear, eat and feel. Click on the image above to follow My Caymanian Life. It’s a virgin blog so please bear with me in the beginning and please follow along on my new, awaiting adventures in Grand Cayman.

For the die-hard Sardinia fans – not to worry, I will still write about this fabulous island in the Mediterranean but not as often as before as My Caymanian Life will take up most of my time.

I hope to see you over at My Caymanian Life.

1st Place for My Sardinian Life in the 2012 Canadian Blog Awards

The votes are in and My Sardinian Life takes 1st place in the 2012 Canadian Blog Awards – in the category of Best Travel & Expat Blog – snaperiffic! It was a close one; so close in fact that there was only a 3 vote difference between 1st & 2nd places!

And now, on with the acceptance speech:

Firstly, I would like to thank Jonathan Kleiman who took copious amounts of time to organize this award for Canadian bloggers across the globe. Jonathan is a Toronto Business Lawyer and a Small Claims Lawyer and his side gig is organizing fantastic blogging awards. I wonder how he does it? If you need a lawyer, be sure to click Jonathan’s name above – and I’m sure he can sort you right on out. So, thank you Jonathan. I appreciate all the hard work you’ve done in the last year to make this award a reality.

I would also like to thank all of those that took time out to vote for My Sardinian Life – you helped make this award a reality and to you I am grateful.

Thanks to you!

  • My number one fan – my Mom.

2nd Blogiversary at My Sardinian Life

There was a wonderful little reminder from WordPress this morning:

Thank you for reminding me WordPress!

Today, November 22nd, 2012 is the two-year blogiversary for My Sardinian Life! I can’t believe that I’ve written about this lovely island in the Mediterranean for this long. It seems like just yesterday when I took the leap of faith and signed up for a blog on WordPress – now two years have gone by. It’s been a fun and interesting adventure where I’ve learned about Sardinia – her people, cultures and magical traditions.

To my readers, followers and stalkers – thank you. If it weren’t for your words of encouragement in these last two years – in all honestly, I would have given up. I have virtually met so many wonderful, inspirational, courageous and brilliantly fantastic people via My Sardinian Life – I have learned from each of you. You have made dark days seem brighter and even managed to turn already sparkling days into moments of magic. It humbles me to be among your followers. Thank you.

And now I have a little treat for you all, and I do hope you enjoy.

The Write Travel Blog – short stories from around the globe.

The Write Travel Blog is a blog for all ages. Therefore, if you are submitting a guest post I please ask that you do not use foul language or explicit sexual references.

The Write Travel Blog is looking for guest posts on travel

I am starting a new project – it’s called The Write Travel Blog. Why did I decide to start a new blog? The answer is easy – the short stories I have written and published on My Sardinian Life are not getting the traffic nor readership I had hoped for. People come to My Sardinian Life to read about Sardinia – not my adventures in Brazil, Australia or Greece. So, with that in mind I opened a new blog. It will go live later this week.

The Reality and 100% Affidabile (Reliable) Blog Awards

I am overwhelmed that people from all over the world tune in to read the tales from My Sardinian Life. Thank you, World! When I started this blog, two years ago, it was with the sole intention to share my photos and daily life with my family and friends who are scattered all over the globe. It was also an outlet to try on my writer’s voice and publish some of the songs and poetry that I’d kept locked up tight.

Blog of the Year 2012 Award | My Sardinian Life

I am deeply honoured to receive this prestigious award from the wonderful folks at the Algarve Blog. The year is not even over and My Sardinian Life woke up to this beautiful award this morning! Thank you!

The rules are simple:

  1. Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog Of the Year 2012‘ Award.
  2. Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
  3. Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012 Award @ the Thought Palette and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
  4. Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them.
  5. You can now also join our Facebook page – click the link here ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook page and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience.
  6. As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars.

With one very shiny star!
Because unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
You begin with the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

And now on with the nominations:

  • Thirdeyemom – is a wonderful blog about travel, culture and social good. In my opinion, I think Nicole deserves the Woman of the Century Award for all her hard work with children around the world.
  • The Urge to Wander – is a lovely blog about travel –  from Turkey to Egypt and from Peru to Spain and many other destinations along the way. This blog will give you the urge to wander.
  • Comedy Travel Writing – is a hilarious blog written by a funny traveling man. This blog is new-ish to me and I’ve found myself a little too eager for his next post. I haven’t seen much comedic travel writing around the blogosphere and this one takes the cake.
  • Cosy Travels of the Viking and his Kitten – is an awesome blog written by a Danish organ player and his Belgian language teacher – Kitten. The photographs are breathtaking as are the travel stories. Plus, I think the blog title kicks butt!
  • A Drifter off to see the World – is a beautifully colourful blog written by a courageous young woman who moved to Australia to continue her education. You go girl!

To all the fabulous blogs listed above – thank you for enriching my world through yours. It’s been a wonderful year full of encouragement and support. I eagerly look forward to exploring yet another year of your travels and tales. Thank you.

A special shout out goes to Jen from Passport to Bliss who kindly nominated My Sardinian Life for The Versatile Blogger Award. This mark’s the sixth time that this blog has received this award. Thank you, Jen.

I am grateful to you all.
