As a regular beach goer, I find myself more often than not, annoyed with the throngs of tourists who claim a patch of sand as their own. Who disregard everything and everyone in their path and destory natures beauty.
With over fifteen years experience beach sitting and exploring I feel I have the right to comment on the things not to do while at the beach.
All around the world people are gearing up for the biggest party on the planet – Carnival. It’s already started here, in Sardinia, Italy. Last night kicked off the beginning of Carrasciali Trinitaiesu.
The 2000 locals finally free from winters wrath, dusted off their masks, put finishing touches on floats and cars, filled up thermos’ of wine, beer and liquor and they hit the streets for Carrasciali Trinitaiesu 2012.
Finally blessed with beautiful warm sunshine which brought out smiles and laughter from young and old alike. The techno beats kept the kids moving and the bootleg Sardinian red helped the adults forget winters harsh cold.

Sometimes, in life there are too many ‘what if’ moments. Moments where we find ourselves questioning motives, desires, yearnings, personal histories, and the what if I do, do it. What then?
Confucius was right in his statement. To become a traveler, you must take that first step. After that, the adventure is yours.
“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky at morning, sailors warning.” – Ancient weather folklore.
A red sky at night signifies a dry day ahead.
I believe, do you?
One hundred and fifty-two years ago the Falls of Niagara became a chorus of coloured light. It would take another twenty-four years before permanent arrangements could be made to illuminate the Falls, nightly.
Fast forward one hundred and twenty-eight years for my turn to digitally alter Niagara’s colours with a single touch of my finger.
“This season the crowds of visitors were not confined to the daytime, but a most interesting feature of the mid-summer months was the illumination of the falls by searchlights on a scale never before attempted. The effect of all this lavish display of electrical light upon the falls each night was a new revelation of beauty which was very highly appreciated by citizens and visitors alike.” Niagara Parks Superintendent James Wilson, 1901.
