From the deep reds of Jerzu to traditional sweets from the Gallura; in love goats and skulls on a hiking path. Sardinia is a beautifully unique island – and I’m looking forward to exploring more of her hidden secrets.

This is my response to the Weekly Photo Challenge – Unique.

What does unique mean to you?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Illumination

Sardinian Mirto is a popular liqueur made from myrtle and comes in two distinct flavours: Mirto rosso which is made from the myrtle berries and Mirto bianco which is made from the leaves of the myrtle plant. Mirto is often served as an after dinner digestive and is served chilled. Most restaurants will offer a homemade mirto which is stronger and has less sugar.

Travel Theme: Multiples

This is an un-edited photo for the weekly photo challenge by Ailsa over at Where’s my backpack.

Sardinia is a stunning island in the Mediterranean but at times, her blue sky is filled with chemtrails or contrails. I lean towards chemtrails as these do not dissipate in time, instead they grow wider and wider eventually changing a beautiful blue sky cloudy. It’s such a shame.

What’s your take on this conspiracy? Are they chemical trails or contrails?

Travel Theme: Hot

Another great theme from Ailsa from Where’s my backpack? The theme this week is hot and I wish it were hot in Sardinia now. Instead of warm summer temperatures we’ve dipped below 10c! That’s shivering cold for us. I’m bundled up tight in my Canadian sweatshirt and wooly socks and dreaming of higher temps.
