Weekly Photo Challenge: An Unusual POV from Sardinia

This week we are challenged with an unusual POV, and yesterday I found myself time to play around with just that –  POV. I was sitting on my sofa watching laundry dry when I decided to snap a photo through my window.

It certainly creates an interesting point of view from stunning Sardinia.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea and Sardinia

“Even castles made of sand, fall into the sea, eventually.” Jimi Hendrix

“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” Jacques Cousteau

“The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach – waiting for a gift from the sea.” Anne Morrow Lindbergh

I’ve always surrounded myself with the sea from Australia to Grand Cayman and now resting in Sardinia.

At what sea do you rest your wary bones?

What a lovely surprise when I looked out the living-room window at 7am this morning – a stunning full moon setting onto the Bay of Asinara.

Weekly Photo Challenge: One Shot, Two Ways

This week’s photo challenge was well, a challenge. I never, repeat, never take portrait shots. I don’t like how they turn out in but I finally managed to shoot these shots at my favourite beach. Here are the rules for this week’s photo challenge:

For this challenge, capture two images — a horizontal and a vertical version — of the same scene or subject. There are no concrete “rules” here, but a) it should be evident that both shots are of the same place/location or person/thing, and b) your photographs should ideally have been taken during the same shoot — where’s the challenge if you’re just plucking out pictures of a particular location or person from your archives?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreshadow

A Caribbean storm over Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman. This is one of my favourite photos I took while living in Grand Cayman this past winter. I had a fabulous time watching this storm move in and even got a little wet.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Masterpiece

I’m not sure what possessed me to climb a ladder and clean our ceiling in 37 degree heat. It’s the first time in six years that I’ve cleaned the ceiling, and it took me two and a half hours. It’s a beautiful masterpiece made from chestnut and took my husband one month to complete. He’s it’s a beautiful masterpiece of patience, nature and abstractness.

I think it can wait another six years before I clean it again! 😉
