Isola Rossa or Red Island owes its name to the granite islet that lies in front of the harbour. Isola Rossa is a fisherman’s hamlet and retains its original characteristics despite the ongoing residential developments.
The area provides excellent holiday accommodations for families and for the romantic getaway. There are two main beaches in Isola Rossa: Spiaggetta del Porto and Spiaggia Longo. The fresh clean waters are a magnet for scuba divers, snorkelers and swimmers.

It was a wonderful afternoon at the beach today. After the maestrale that blew though here for a few days last week, it was finally nice to get some hot, hot weather.

Isola Rossa is located in the northwestern part of Sardinia. It’s a fantastic family beach with plenty of fun activities to choose from. You will not be disappointed in an afternoon spent here.

How far to drive from Uras in the south west, do you know of any beaches down in the south west, we go to Pistis beach every day when we are in Sardinia
It’s about a 3.5 hour drive! I’d love to see Pistis beach.

This beach looks so beautiful……….
I spent my day in record breaking heat in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, with 10 in-laws staying for a week and my husband and three children…. Several of the clan went jet-boating down the Niagara Gorge to (near) the base of Niagara Falls, where several of the clan are currently watching the lights change over the Falls – remember changing the lights J Avventura??? Did a 4k Gorge hike with nephew and husband, followed by Alice Cooper/Iron Maiden outdoor concert in THE HEAT! Had two in-a-row very early fire calls, one winery tour,a fab supper with all of the clan, an in-house movie with select few (5 year old an 8 year old and husband). Finishing local bottle of cab sauv all by myself catching up on lil’ sis’ blog. That’s how I spent my day, AJ, thanks for asking! PS Did you ever notice Jennifer Avventura is AJ transposed?
What an awesome day! I can’t belive you did a 4k in the heat! I get myself out of bed around 6am to go for a 6k because after that it’s just too hot!
Jet boating … still haven’t done that. Wine tours one too many…gulp 😉
