Last night marked the end of Carnival. The crowds came out in numbers to watch the floats and dancers go by. The atmosphere hung steams of happiness and moments of crisis’ momentarily forgotten.

The floats were colourful and large with enough base to entertain the crowd for miles.
Wizards, dragons and gypsies danced to the excellent beat.
Always a political message strewn into the foray.

After such a gray and drab winter, it was nice to see these large splashes of colour.
Seems like a lot of fun. The last time I celebrated Carnival was in Cologne, which was awesome!
I am going have to find a Carnaval to go to next year! Great pixs!

I went to Carnevale in Viareggio today and took far too many photos, just like I did last year. These events are so much fun. I love the way families dress up and have a great time.
